Second Lieutenant Bromley Basford was one of more than 4,800 servicemen who died in Belgium on 4 October 1917. Bromley died on the first day of the Battle of Broodseinde during the Third Battle of Ypres. He is buried in Commonwealth War Graves Commission Bedford House Cemetery.
