CHICAGO (WLS) -- The NASCAR Chicago Street Race for 2024 is being held in and around Grant Park on July 6 and 7. Along with two banner races, the event features a family-friendly festival with with live music, including performances by The Black Keys, The Chainsmokers and Keith Urban.

NASCAR returns to Chicago this weekend for the Grant Park 165, and the 12-turn circuit will include some of the city’s most iconic streets.

For the second season in a row, NASCAR is heading to Chicago. After making its NASCAR debut last July, the Chicago Street Course is back. While NASCAR races on winding road courses every season, the Chicago Street Race is the only one on the schedule this season that’ll take place on real city streets.

The race created some new NASCAR fans. But some people also have problems with the traffic and other issues and wonder about whether it's worth bringing back.

I spent a few minutes pre-race on Sunday talking to NASCAR fans about the second edition of the Chicago Street Race. I asked if they were enjoying themselves, if the race was better than the first edition,
