The head of men's tennis is vehemently rejecting claims Jannik Sinner is receiving favourable treatment and is confident the sport will "survive" if the world number one ultimately cops a lengthy doping ban.

World number one Jannik Sinner's doping hearing will start on April 16, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said on Friday. Italian Sinner failed two drug tests in March for low levels of the anabolic androgenic steroid clostebol but was cleared by an independent tribunal in August after it accepted his explanation of unintentional contamination.

World number one Jannik Sinner will have his hearing into allegations of doping at the Court of Arbitration for Sport on April 16-17, the Lausanne-based body said on Friday.The World Anti-Doping Agency appealed after the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) cleared Sinner after he tested positive twice for the banned steroid clostebol in March last year.
