Manchester United are exploring a bold move to bring Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins to Old Trafford — and they’re willing to part ways with Marcus Rashford to make it happen.

Marcus Rashford is reported to be “prioritising” a move abroad should he secure an exit from Manchester United this summer. But beyond holding onto hope that Barcelona will have the financial wherewithal to sign him, another option looks to be emerging in the form of Bayern Munich.

Manchester United officially begin their preparations for the 2025/26 season on Monday, and Marcus Rashford is among the players expected back at Carrington. Rashford has seemed destined for a permanent summer departure since leaving for Aston Villa on loan in January, but one has not yet come to fruition.
