Play at the Madrid Open tennis tournament has been suspended because of a major power outage reported in Spain and Portugal.

Officials for the Madrid Open cancelled Monday's play amid a blackout in Spain that impacted the tournament's facilities. The blackout caused a number of logistical problems at Caja Mágica with the scoreboards going dark and the loss of lighting to help fans navigate the venue:

Play was suspended at the Madrid Open the afternoon of April 28 before being canceled for the day and night, due to a power outage across Spain and the Iberian Peninsula.
