Phoenix announced it promoted vice president of player programming Brian Gregory to the general manager position as previous GM James Jones transitioned to a senior advisor role. Gregory will be under the spotlight during the offseason as the team looks to hire a new head coach and perhaps even trade Kevin Durant.

The Phoenix Suns will certainly shoot for the moon as they look to trade Kevin Durant this summer, but the Houston Rockets might be able to get a deal done without moving their core pieces.

With their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, the Suns were expected to be a top team in the Western Conference this season. Instead, the Suns finished 11th in the West standings with a 36-46 record, three games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final Play-In spot.
