Nearly a week after the destructive Mountain Fire destroyed more than a hundred buildings and torched tens of thousands of acres of brush in Ventura County, firefighters are defending their response to the blaze as some residents return to their burnt homes.

At least 200 structures, including homes, have been destroyed alongside an additional 90 damaged in the ongoing wind-fanned Mountain Fire in Ventura County, fire officials said Tuesday morning.

Higher humidity levels will mitigate any risks that wind increases Tuesday will bring as officials describe a positive outlook for the Mountain fire.
