Mapmakers and teachers are re-thinking what to call the gulf of water between Mexico, the United States and Cuba after President Donald Trump ordered it renamed from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Google will rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America and restore Denali in Alaska, the highest peak in North America, to its previous name, Mount McKinley.

Google plans to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America and that of the Alaskan mountain Denali to Mount McKinley in Google Maps, the company said Tuesday in a series of tweets. The news follows President Donald Trump's executive order to rename the body of water and mountain on his first day in office.
