Dallas owned a 26-23 record before general manager Nico Harrison made the shocking decision to trade superstar Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a package centered around Davis. Fans and pundits called out Harrison during the Mavericks' postseason exit.

Davis was underwhelming against his former team, putting up 13 points and 11 rebounds on a night when Luka Doncic returned home to put up 45 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.
