According to an update provided by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) at around 5:32 a.m., Yellow Line service was temporarily suspended due to an obstruction at Dodge Avenue in Evanston.

The crash caused $8.7 million in damage. The CTA Yellow Line-Skokie Swift did not resume operations until January 2024 — seven weeks after the crash.
