Initial location: Ventura County, Calif. A new prescribed burn, named Steelhead, was initiated today at 8:45 a.m. in Ventura County, California. The prescribed fire has been burning on private land. Currently, there is no information on the extent of land burned or the size of the crew involved in executing the prescribed fire.

The raids happened simultaneously at Glass House Farms in Camarillo and another Glass House facility in Carpinteria, located about 35 miles north in Santa Barbara County.

Ventura’s effort to make the road closure permanent failed July 8, after a majority of downtown property owners opposed citing revenue losses.
