The Japanese automaker plans to sell multiple EVs here, but now none of them will be assembled in the U.S. for years.

Toyota is delaying the production of its first U.S.-made electric vehicle until 2026 at the earliest. Still, it says it’s going to sell as many as seven all-electric vehicles here within the next two years.

Subaru Corporation (OTCPK:FUJHY) (OTCPK:FUJHF) plan to launch a jointly developed electric vehicle in Japan, the U.S., and Europe in 2026, according to Nikkei. The goal of the partnership between the two Japanese automakers is to improve production efficiency and cut costs throughout the electric vehicle

Plans for the Toyota three-row electric SUV to be built in Kentucky were first announced by the automaker in 2023. Toyota said at the time it would introduce 10 EVs by the end of 2026 for both the Toyota and Lexus brands, after which the company would introduce next-generation EVs delivering much more range.

Toyota is postponing the start of production of its first electric model made in the US until 2026. The Japanese carmaker had originally planned to start production of its three-row electric SUV in Kentucky at the end of 2025.
