Tigers promote three top prospects to Double A Erie
Top Detroit Tigers prospects Kevin McGonigle, Max Clark and Josue Briceno were promoted from High A West Michigan to Double A Erie on Sunday. In the latest MLB Pipeline rankings, updated July 1, McGonigle, a shortstop, is ranked No. 7; Clark, an outfielder, is No. 12; and Briceno, a first baseman and catcher, is No. 58.
Tigers' Max Clark: Moving up to Double-A
Clark will move up to Double-A after posting a .285 average with seven home runs, 47 RBI, 49 runs scored and 12 stolen bases over 68 games with High-A West Michigan. The 20-year-old has played center field and designated hitter this year, and he'll now join fellow top prospect Kevin McGonigle with Erie, after McGonigle was also promoted Sunday.
The Tigers are promoting three of MLB's Top-100 prospects at the same time, and it is great news for the major league squad.
