The Indian government is in talks seeking to resolve a long-running conflict between two ethnic communities in the northeastern state of Manipur, Interior Minister Amit Shah said at a press conference on Tuesday.

CM Biren Singh urges public to "refrain from sharing unnecessary, inflammatory content that may disturb the peace, harmony".

Indian authorities should urgently intervene to address renewed violence between ethnic groups in India’s northeastern state of Manipur.

The violence between the Meitei and Kukis has killed 225 and displaced 60,000 since last year, in a state of 3.2 million.

Amit Shah said that except for recent violence that went on for three days, no major incident took place in the last 3 months.
