FOXBORO — Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo went out of his way to compliment his team’s crowded wide receiver room Friday. That follows up a bad week for the Patriots’ group of young wideouts, who made headlines for all the wrong reasons leading up to and in the team’s Week 8 win over the Jets.

It’s been a quiet start to the season for rookie wide receiver Javon Baker. The fourth-round pick has played just six offensive snaps this season — all coming back in Week 2 — and has not yet recorded a catch.

Javon Baker has yet to have an impact for the New England Patriots, and the rookie reportedly had a "hiccup" leading up to the team's London game.

Jerod Mayo seemed to indicate that Javon Baker will get some playing time in the Patriots' matchup against the Titans.

I feel like I’m heading in the right direction,” Baker said in the Patriots locker room. “But that’s a coach question. You have to ask him that one.”
