The story of the 2025 NFL Draft has to do with a player who hasn't even heard his name called yet. Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, was expected to be a first-round pick, but instead went unselected in the first three rounds of the draft.

Shedeur Sanders' dramatic draft slide continued through the second and third rounds as no NFL team picked the QB on Day 2.

For instance, his family lived-streamed Friday’s draft party on Twitch, and video there caught Sanders getting what he thought was finally the call that he was being picked. Those watching saw Sanders smiling wide and talking to someone on the phone. “I’m good, been waiting on you,” he said.
