Republicans have won control of the U.S. Senate and remain locked in a tight battle in 2024 for control of the House of Representatives. All 435 House seats are up for election this year, and a handful of close matchups could make or break which party winds up with the majority.

Voters turned out Tuesday to vote for the next President of the United States, a race between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris. Democrats and Republicans are also battling for control of the U.S. Senate this election. There are 34 Senate seats up for grabs, with about a half dozen of those likely to be decided by tight margins .
