There are four highly competitive U.S. House races in Pennsylvania, more than any other state. Democrats hope to flip them all.

(WHTM) – Pennsylvanians will return to the polls in just a few months for the 2026 primary election. According to the Pennsylvania Department of State, as of December 2, 2025, the spring primary election is set for May 19,

This comes after a four-month budget impasse, which left counties and school districts across the state staggering, shutting down or taking high-interest loans to keep the lights on.

Counties use a variety of methods to cast lots, but it typically involves drawing a numbered object — a piece of paper, ping pong ball, playing card, etc. — out of a box or bag. Depending on the county, whichever candidate draws the higher or lower number wins the election.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Two months into Pennsylvania’s budget stalemate, Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman (R) said his caucus would be open to a $49 billion plan to end the gridlock. But a final deal — which landed on a not very different $50.

Federal prosecutors charged Matthew Laiss in September with double voting in the November 2020 election. The U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleged that Laiss moved from Pennsylvania to Florida in August of that year and voted both in person in Florida and via mail ballot in Bucks County. Both votes were allegedly for Trump.
