Kevin Lankinen nearly gave the Vancouver Canucks their second win on their California leg of the four-game road trip against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

For the 12th time this season, Kevin Lankinen will be getting the start for the Vancouver Canucks. As per Head Coach Adam Foote, the 30-year-old is the projected starter for Vancouver's matchup on Sunday against the Calgary Flames. So far this season, Lankinen is 4-6-2 with a save percentage of .886.

General manager Patrik Allvin announced Tuesday that goalie Kevin Lankinen will not travel with the team "due to personal reasons." Vancouver has called up netminder Jiri Patera from the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks under emergency conditions. He'll join fellow AHL goalie Nikita Tolopilo on the trip.

Before the Canucks flew off to Southern California Tuesday, the team announced that Lankinen would not be travelling with the team. The Canucks face the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, then a Friday matinee in San Jose. Saturday they’re in Los Angeles and then Tuesday the trip finishes in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche.
