LBCI sources reported a private meeting between President Joseph Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at the Presidential Palace in Baabda on Friday afternoon. Upon leaving the palace, Speaker Berri briefly commented,

"Lebanon needs to move forward." With these succinct words, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri responded to an LBCI question regarding whether the boycott of non-binding parliamentary consultations by the Hezbollah-Amal Movement blocs was a message to both domestic and international audiences.

Nawaf Salam, Lebanon's Prime Minister-designate, assured that the formation of a new government is progressing positively. Despite not securing support from Shi'ite parties Hezbollah and Amal, Salam has gained majority backing.
