An advocacy associate with PETA wrote, Shaurya Agrawal, a letter to Salman Khan, the host of Bigg Boss 18. In the letter, he claimed, "We are being inundated with complaints by members of the public who are deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India on Wednesday appealed to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to use his influence to remove a donkey from the sets of "Bigg Boss 18"

Bollywood superstar and Bigg Boss 18 host Salman Khan has been requested by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to convince the makers of the controversial reality show to not use animals.

Its not even a week and 'Bigg Boss 18' is already getting open letters by authorities. This time PETA has sent a letter to Salman Khan against using animal as 'props for entertainment.

PETA India has urged Salman Khan and Bigg Boss producers to exclude the donkey, Max, from the show, citing public distress. They argue that using animals as entertainment is harmful and inappropriate.

Bigg Boss 18 recently held its grand premiere. On the hit reality show, hosted by Salman Khan, there are has 18 contestants inside the house but the show also has an actual animal – a donkey as the 19th contestant.

During the grand premiere, an actual donkey was introduced to the show, while some viewers found it amusing, others argued that it was unfair.

For the first time, this year, Bigg Boss house also has a real animal. This year, a donkey named Gadraj is also a part of the show
