A statewide Missing Child Alert issued Thursday for a 16-year-old last seen in North Port has been canceled, investigators said. The teen was found safe.

“AMBER Alerts are activated in the most serious child-abduction cases,” according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. “The goal of an AMBER Alert is to instantly galvanize the community to assist in the search for and safe recovery of a missing child.”

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has issued an Amber Alert out of Platte County for 5-year-old Giuliana Manning.
