BJP fought the Jharkhand election in its trade-mark aggressive style by raising issues such as 'corruption' and 'Bangladeshi infiltration', but it seems they did not go well among voters, prompting the INDIA bloc to retain power in the state.

Exit polls released on Wednesday projected mixed outcomes for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. While most predicted victories for BJP-led alliances in both states, a few gave an edge to the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra.

Jharkhand is likely to see a change of government with BJP-led National Democratic Alliance coming to power in the state, three exit polls said on Wednesday with one poll giving majority to the ruling JMM-led alliance.

Maharashtra recorded a 62.05 per cent voter turnout, while Jharkhand saw 68.01 per cent, surpassing the 67.04 per cent turnout in the 2019 assembly elections.
