GARDINER, Maine (WGME) -- A Maine man is dead after a crash on I-95 in Sidney. Maine State Police say a Nissan pickup truck driven by 69-year-old Philip Marson of Gardiner went off the road and crashed into some trees in the median on I-95 southbound around 7 a.m.

Speed appears to be a factor in a deadly crash that killed a 69-year-old man on Interstate 95 in Maine on Thursday morning, state police said.

SIDNEY — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 Thursday morning, first responders say. The crash was reported around 7 a.m. after a Nissan pickup truck veered into the median near Sidney, according to Sidney Fire Chief Richard Jandreau. The driver, Philip Marson, 69, of Gardiner, was dead by the time crews arrived.

Police believe speed may have been a factor but are still investigating exactly what happened.
