Kroger to close Fred Meyer store on Evergreen Way in Everett

E VERETT — Supermarket giant Kroger will close the Fred Meyer store at 8530 Evergreen Way in Everett, citing a rise in theft as one the reasons, the company said in a statement on Monday. In addition to Everett, a Fred Meyer in Kent will also be shuttered, said Kroger spokesperson Tiffany Sanders in a statement.

Two additional, six total Kroger-owned stores to close in western Washington

This announcement brings the total number of stores closing to six. The company previously announced in July and on August 18 that four other Kroger-owned grocers would be closing. Those locations include the Kent, Everett and Tacoma Fred Meyer locations, as well as the Mill Creek QFC.
