An incoming winter storm is bringing some much-needed snow to the mountains, with one area expected to see up to 10 inches.
After Friday, the storm will dissipate, and we’ll be left with more dry weather, with possible wind events happening Saturday and late next workweek. “It is so dry that once the snow melts away, we’re going to be right back into the same fire weather conditions if we do get those couple bouts of wind,” said Barjenbruch.
Today, Jan. 7, in Southern Colorado, temperatures will stay above normal, with most areas reaching the upper 50s and some spots climbing into the low 60s. Winds will be calmer than in recent days, with gusts mostly limited to higher terrain and the high country.
The city says their prep for this storm will be a little different as they plan to pretreat the roadways with deicer ahead of the storm.
