The man was pronounced dead on the scene. A 6-month-old boy who was in the back seat of the man's car suffered a graze wound to the right cheek. The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Investigators say there were no other reported injuries.

Around 11 a.m., paramedics were called to the 2400 block of South Oakley Avenue for the shooting, fire spokesperson Larry Langford said.

A man was killed, and a 6-month-old boy was wounded after a shooting on Chicago’s South Side Wednesday morning. It happened around 10:45 a.m. on South Oakley Avenue near West 24th Street in the Lower West Side.
