Amazon Prime Video has signed a licensing deal with Dinesh Vijan-led production house Maddock Films for 8 upcoming films made under the banner. The companies did not reveal the value of the deal.
Adam Hashmi (“Bridgerton,” “Criminal Record”) is cast as the series’ titular character. Starring alongside Hashmi are Alexander Siddig (“Foundation,” “Shantaram”) as Jacob, Babak Tafti (“Succession,” “Billions”) as Simeon, Daniel Peera (“The Cleaning Lady,” “NCIS”) as Reuben and Iris Bahr (“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Svetlana”) as Leah.
Created by Derek Haas, Countdown, is a crime drama series that is also written by Haas. Featuring Jensen Ackles, Violett Beane, Eric Dane, and others, the show has one season and released recently on Amazon Prime Video on June 25, 2025.
