On Wednesday, Netflix announced that it will be soon be distributing the first-ever live-action "Scooby-Doo" television series, with a story set before the Mystery Inc. gang officially got together.
WBTV is the studio. “Mystery, Inc. is back in business! We’re excited to bring Scooby-Doo to TV as a live-action series for the first time,” said Peter Friedlander, VP, Scripted Series, Netflix.
Over the years, "Scooby-Doo" has been developed into several spin-offs, reboots and live-action films starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini.
Scooby-Doo has to be the hardest-working canine in Hollywood. That poor pup can’t catch a break, and it looks like the Great Dane is going to Netflix.
Most famously, “Scooby-Doo” was released in 2002 and starred Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, and Linda Cardellini, with Neil Fanning voicing Scooby.
