Arizona weather forecast: Rain chances continue on Thursday in Phoenix
The system may not center over the state until Saturday evening, bringing the best chance for storms. Rain chances in Phoenix will increase from 20% Friday to 40% Saturday and 60% Saturday night. If the storm system doesn't dig as far southwest, or moves more quickly, the best chance for wet weather could speed up.

Arizona weather forecast: Cloudy, warmer-than-normal temps in Phoenix
Warm conditions will continue through Friday, with high temperatures in the mid-80s, but a major storm system is expected to bring rain, wind, and significantly cooler temperatures over the weekend.
For a 24-hour period ending at 3 p.m. on Nov. 23, a rain gauge in downtown Phoenix reported .28 inches of rainfall, South Mountain Park saw .47 of an inch and Freestone Basin in Gilbert saw .63 of an inch, according to the Maricopa County Flood Control District website.
Now, recent storms in November have brought 0.79 inches of rain, which makes Phoenix’s fall the wettest in the city’s history, according to data from NWS. While the NWS uses totals captured at Sky Harbor to collect its data, other areas of the Valley — such as the northwest Valley — saw even higher amounts of rain.
A tornado rated at EF-0 touched down northwest of Phoenix in Maricopa County last week, damaging property and an RV.
Strong storms in the Phoenix area led to the loss of power among several thousand customers and significant damage at Desert Sky Mall.
