The Laurel Lady Golden Tornadoes defeated Holmes County Central on Saturday in the 2026 MHSAA 5A Girls Basketball State Championship, 52-26, completing their back-to-back championship season.
Laurel looks to win its second championship in the last three seasons.
Laurel girls basketball coach Sherri Cooley has retired following the Lady Tornadoes' MHSAA 5A title on March 7.
