"LSU never, under any circumstances, condones the throwing of debris onto the field of play at any of its venues," the athletic department said in a statement. "This kind of unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated, and we will take immediate steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.”

ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit did not hold back his thoughts on the LSU fans who threw water bottles on the field after a facemask penalty.

LSU and Ole Miss have both been fined by the SEC for violations of conference rules. The Tigers will be the second school fined $250,000 this season for fans throwing trash and debris on to the playing surface,

The biggest game in college football this past weekend was between the LSU football team and Alabama. Both the Tigers and Crimson Tide came into the game with two losses, so it had the feel of a playoff elimination game.
