Lake Granby is the third largest body of water in Colorado. It was created by the erection of Granby Dam, completed in 1950, as part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project.

I recently had the opportunity to take three generations of my family on a fishing trip to Lake Granby. We joined Bernie Keefe of Fishing With Bernie to chase fall lake trout.

Granby Park and the lower walkway at the north end of Riverfront Park are closed because of rising river levels, the City of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation announced today.

To alleviate flood concerns, Northern Water began releasing water out of Lake Granby on Friday, sending it west out of Granby Dam.
