Six people total were trapped inside a burning apartment due to a fire that killed three people, Cobb County officials say.

Three people are dead after a massive fire tore through an apartment building in Cobb County late Sunday night, according to the Cobb County fire department.

Firefighters were called around 10 p.m. Sunday to the Concord Crossing Apartments on Woodsong Way just outside Smyrna.

According to Cobb County Fire, approximately 15 people were rescued from porches and balconies, and six people were transported to the hospital.
