Hurricane Helene's death toll soared to 215 people on Thursday as more victims were found, making Helene the deadliest hurricane to hit the mainland U.S. since Katrina in 2005, the Associated Press reported. Roughly half the victims were in North Carolina, while dozens more were killed in South Carolina and Georgia.

More than 6000 National Guardsmen have been deployed to the Helene relief effort. With many roads and bridges knocked out, much of their work is being done by helicopter.

A helping hand was lent by the Arkansas National Guard, who transported more than 25,300 Meals Ready to Eat (MRE) to Georgia after Hurricane Helene's damage lef

Stallion Transportation Group in Beebe is sending food, and some extra hands, down to Georgia to help with the storm's aftermath.
