The first major snowstorm of the season for metro Denver continues overnight Friday and into Saturday morning.

Denver's National Weather Service reports a winter storm causing heavy snowfall and travel warnings in Colorado.

Some parts of the Denver area could get up to four inches of snow, while other parts of Colorado could get up to a foot.

Up to 2 inches per hour snowfall rates are expected in Denver through late Friday evening bringing major travel impacts in the metro and especially across the Palmer Divide and eastern plains.
