Tamil Nadu Minister Thiru Ponmudi faced the people’s anger during a visit to a flood-affected area in the Villupuram district after cyclone Fengal.

As per an estimate by the Tamil Nadu government, Cyclone Fengal caused unprecedented devastation in 14 districts, extensively damaging roads, and electricity lines and causing heavy inundation.

Heavy rains after Cyclone Fengal landfall have resulted in flooding in several areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Amid this a video from a district in Tamil Nadu has gone viral, showing cars and buses being swept away in flood waters.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced financial aid for Cyclone Fengal victims, including families, farmers, and students, alongside assistance for rebuilding lives and recovering lost documents.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin expressed grief over the death of seven persons, including five children, killed in landslide caused by rain in Annamalaiyar Hill in Thiruvannamalai district and announced Rs 5 lakh solatium each to their kin on Tuesday.

As cyclone Fengal wreaked havoc in Tamil Nadu, it was reported that seven people died in Tiruvannamalai. Five bodies have been recovered by the officials. The search and rescue operations resumed on December 3 at 7:30 am.
