On Monday, Apple launched a new iOS feature called Share Item Location. It's a new way to share the real-time coordinates of lost or misplaced items with third parties, including airlines. This works on accessories that support Apple's Find My feature, as well as AirTags.

Apple users will soon be able to share the location of lost items with more than 15 airlines. The Share Item Location feature, which is set to be introduced soon through an Apple software update, will let users share the locations of items with third parties.

With iOS 18.2, users can generate a location link in the Find My app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac and send it to other people, including airline customer service.
