Alien: Romulus is getting a VHS release! 20th Century Studios announced that the recent film in the Alien sci-fi horror franchise will get a limited-edition VHS release on December 3rd. The special VHS is described as being “an ultimate movie collector’s dream,

Romulus” will be one of the first blockbusters in years to receive a VHS release. Romulus was noted for its return to the basics approach, revitalizing a lot of the elements from the original “Alien” released in 1979.

It's apparently been 18 years since a major studio has released a movie on VHS, but that drought will be broken when Alien: Romulus comes out for the outdated platform on December 3. That's right: An actual tape of the sci-fi horror movie is getting made, though it will be a limited edition.

The seventh installment in the 45-year “Alien” film series hits Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home on Oct. 15 ahead of its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD release on Dec. 3.
