Dozens of people arrived early in the morning on Saturday to paddle into the once-polluted water, following a clean-up brought on by last year's Summer Olympics.

After a century, Paris has reopened the River Seine for public swimming, a legacy of the Paris 2024 Olympics. The reopening follows a €1.4 billion cleanup. Parisians, including a 95-year-old, celebrated the event at the new Bras Marie swim zone.
