De'Andre Hunter and Evan Mobley combined for 30 points for the Cavaliers, who closed the first quarter on a 27-5 scoring run and never looked back. The Heat, which dropped its sixth straight playoff game at home, were paced by Bam Adebayo with 22 points and nine rebounds. Game 4 is back in Miami on Monday.

The Heat’s empty possessions and all of the Cavaliers’ second-chance opportunities negated another hot outside shooting performance from Miami. The Heat shot 9 of 20 on threes in Saturday’s first half and finished the loss 16 of 34 (47.1 percent) from three-point range.

The NBA playoffs continue on Saturday with four first-round matchups, three in the Western Conference. In the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers can take a dominating 3-0 series lead over the Miami Heat.
