The Montreal Canadiens faithful received two pieces of good news on Monday morning. The first is that Joshua Roy has been recalled from the Laval Rocket.

The Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket, the team announced Monday. Roy, who has yet to see a game with the Canadiens this season, has scored eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points in 17 games with Laval - good for first on the team.

This morning, the team announced that Joshua Roy was recalled from its AHL farm team, the Laval Rocket. While Roy was pencilled in the NHL roster by many before the start of training camp, he failed to impress and was cut from camp while Oliver Kapanen and Emil Heineman impressed and made the team.

Joshua Roy’s penance is over. And it only was a question of when, not if. The 6-foot, 192-pound forward was recalled by the Canadiens Monday morning from AHL Laval, where he had been demoted in early October after being one of Montreal’s final training camp cuts.
