The Philadelphia 76ers give an injury update on Joel Embiid as he will also miss the contest with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Embiid missed the entire preseason and first six games of this regular season with left knee injury management before serving a three-game league suspension. He made his season debut against the New York Knicks on Nov. 12 only to miss the following night’s game due to managing the knee.

Embiid said reports of the meeting, during which his tardiness was questioned by Tyrese Maxey, were overblown.

Joel Embiid, who was thrown on the injury report on Friday morning due to left knee injury management, is now out for the contest. He did not come out at all for warm ups which was the tell-tale sign that the big fella was not going to be able to give it a go.

Joel Embiid will play in a mere four of the Sixers’ first 16 games. A Sixers official said Friday night during the Sixers’ game vs. the Nets that Embiid, in addition to sitting against Brooklyn, will also be out Sunday against the Clippers.

The Philadelphia 76ers dropped to 2-12 following a 117-111 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. They have now lost five in a row and are trying to figure out a way to turn this thing around.

It didn’t help. The Sixers still lost 106-89 in Miami. They are now 2-11 and tied with the Washington Wizards for the worst record in the league. That’s right, not the Eastern Conference but the whole NBA.
