Jay Shah assumed the role of Chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on December 1, ushering in a new era of leadership in global cricket. He succeeds Greg Barclay, who served as ICC Chair since November 2020.

Jay Shah, who has helped Indian cricket scale new heights during his tenure as the BCCI secretary, has take charge as the chairman of the ICC after Greg Barclay opted not to seek a third term.

Dubai: As he commences his tenure as Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Sunday, Jay Shah has given an outline of his vision towards leveraging the sport’s presence in the Olympics and growing women’s cricket across the globe.

Jay Shah expressed his vision to grow the global reach of the sport with a particular focus on the opportunity of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) today - 1 December - marked the beginning of Jay Shah's tenure as ICC Chair.

Jay Shah was set to take charge as ICC chair on December 1, but as per a report in Cricket Pakistan, current char Greg Barclay's tenure has been extended by a month.
