U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's plan to slap a 25% tax on all imports from Mexico and Canada could strike the bottom lines of U.S. automakers, especially General Motors , and raise prices of SUVs and pickup trucks for U.

Nearly every major automaker operating in the U.S. has factories in Mexico, however GM and Stellantis produce highly profitable full-size pickup trucks there.

General Motors Co (NYSE:GM) and Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA) are trading lower Tuesday after President-elect Donald Trump threatened tariffs on goods imported from Canada and Mexico.
