For the first time in over a century, a royal Egyptian tomb has been uncovered by archaeologists. The tomb was uncovered in 2022, but has only now been confirmed as the final resting place of King Thutmose II.

The Ministry of Antiquities said the discovery of the tomb of Thutmose II, whose wife, Hatshepsut, took the throne after his death, was the first excavation of a royal tomb since 1922.
