A​ major winter storm is hammering parts of Colorado, including Denver, after dumping multiple feet of snow in parts of northern New Mexico, snarling travel, knocking out power, even damaging some trees.

After several inches of snow fell in Denver weather this week and several more inches expected by Saturday morning, the city announced Friday that it will activate its residential snow plows overnight.
