WEBIt makes a 27.5" x 31.5" x 7' bale. With the density setting we are using, 1st cutting is weighing about 650 and 2nd cutting about 750. This is orchard and Timothy hay. Could turn up the density and make them heavier, but my market likes this weight. Also bales that I roto cut weigh more too.

WEBNov 21, 2009 · The thing is a bale of bermudagrass stems will still look like nice hay while a bale of alfalfa stems looks like a bundle of sticks. I try to put up a bale that is 34 inches long. The reason for this is a 34" bale that weighs 55 lbs will be a firm bale, while a 55 lb 40 inch long bale will be soft and not hold up a stack.

When stacking flat, I shoot for a square of 6', 4 bales X 2 bales, then turn the next layer to tie. when stacking on edge, I go 5 bales by 2 bales for a square of 6'. The 36" bales will let me go 6 long on an 18' wagon, or 8 bales long on a 24' trailer. I shoot for 34 but really get 32-36.

Three stacks wide, When I was stacking an older, Much older, NH 1010 I had 4 stacks wide and a good 12" between stacks. The NH 1003 is 3 bales wide and 8" or 10" between stacks. Three stacks wide.

WEBJun 29, 2021 · I think a 80 pto hp can pull a 5X6 rd baler on flat ground @ 5-6 mph very good. Faster ground speeds & higher bales per acre might require more HP. I think a JD 5 series such a 535,566,568 or 568 or newer models would be a good choice. JD lists 55 hp for baling dry hay with no crop cutters for 5 series balers.

WEBMar 18, 2013 · We build and use all 9'x20-24' beds on our wagons. They are on 8-12 ton running gears. When I use 9' wide beds, I can stack 3-36" bales on edge across them. My accumulator is a 15 bale edge, so I can put 60 bales per layer on the longer wagons and 45 bales per layer on the shorter ones.

We use that link so we can go right to a 36 inch wide square bale. 2 work fine for the round bales but if we do a three-by-three wet that was cut in a roto cutter baler we need three 36-inch Spears.
