Canned goods not so much (perhaps half as much), and less as time goes on. So using canned goods instead of freeze dried for nutrition reasons doesn't make sense.

While there are a ton of companies out there, there are actually only 3 freeze-dried food processing plants in the whole United States. Most of the stuff out there is the same. Having tested all for work, I would set Mary Jane's Farm Organics and Backpacker's Pantry apart for quality.

I sampled most of them still freeze dried, but the lady showing us the samples, made chicken salad and it was excellent. I have no idea how Thrive is price wise ...

They were stocking those shelters and warehouses. No big conspiracy here, although the truth is rarely as much fun as tin foil.
Mountain House cans opened and resealed shelf life
WEBMar 29, 2016 · In 1979 I bought some large cans of freeze dried Mountain House food. It was supposed to last 25 years. It was kept in the basement where it was cool and dry. We ate the some of the fruit within a decade. We later opened the entrees, long before 25 years, and they were powder, worthless unless one likes powdered food.
